If you want to get a foothold in one of the most secretive and lucrative industries in business, M&A is the place to start. But it takes a lot more than financial acumen to make the grade in this highly competitive industry and there are a lot of courses out there that can help.
This online course teaches the key skills required for M&A transactions including valuation, deal structuring, negotiation strategies and accounting. It covers a wide range of different deals from strategic M&A to private equity leveraged buyouts and restructuring deals like spinoffs and asset transfers. It’s a great way to get up to speed on the basics of M&A and would be a good supplement to more specialist M&A courses and certifications.
There are a lot of M&A courses out there but this one from the LSE is particularly comprehensive and includes all the technical details that M&A bankers need to be familiar with like M&A jargon, special structures and bespoke terms. It also dives into the various forms of analysis that M&A uses like NPV, discounted cash flow modeling and even options and game theory to give you a broad understanding of the tools that are available for M&A.

But it’s well-respected and covers all the key areas that are needed for an M&A role like negotiating strategy, due diligence and M&A jargon.
